Why am I here?

I'm in this course because I am pursuing a PhD in Educational Technology. I am interesting in teaching pre-service teachers in strategies for effectively integrating technology in the classroom, as well as conducting educational technology research.

Other things you should know about me:

I am married and have 2 small children. My wife, Toni, teaches music for Glencoe Public Schools, and our kids are Philip (2) and Elizabeth (17 months). They're 15 months apart, so they keep us pretty busy. We are involved at Sunnybrook Christian Church. In addition to my family duties, work duties (Assessment Specialist for OSU Professional Education), and PhD duties, I'm also teaching a section of EDTC 3123. Oh, and I play darts with Dr. Curry more often than I should. And he always loses . . .

My Assignments:

Precis 1: Cognitive Load and Learning Effects of Having Students Organize Pictures and Words in Multimedia Environments: The Role of Student Interactivity and Feedback

Precis 2: Optimal presentation of graphic organizers and text: A case for large bites?

Precis 3: An Analysis of Cognitive Tool Use Patterns in a Hypermedia Learning Environment

Precis 4: Enabling, facilitating, and inhibiting effects of animations in multimedia learning: Why reduction of cognitive load can have negative results on learning
