Why am I here? I am here because I want to learn the most up-to-date techniques to design effective language teaching courses. I believe that there are best methods that will make language learning less painful, more effective and more efficient. The development of high technology has provided language teachers and instruction designers powerful tools to facilitate language teaching and language learning. It is the teachers' responsibility to apply these tools into everyday language instruction, and to make the languge learners' life easier.

Other things you should know about me: I have a strong tendency to learn new things, and apply them to practicle use. As a non-native English speaker, I have spent a long and hard time learning English. So I don't want younger second language learners to spent as much time as I did to achieve high English competence so that they can have more time to study whatever topics they like or enjoy presure-free lives besides learning English.

My Assignments:

* Precis 1: Enabling, facilitating, and inhibiting effects of animations in multimedia learning: why reduction of cognitive load can have negative results on learning.

* Precis 2: Engaging by design: how engagement strategies in popular computer and video games can inform instructional design.

* Precis 3: Examining the effects of text-only and text-and-visual instructional materials on the achievement of field-dependent and field-independent learners during problem-solving with modeling software.

* Precis 4: Instructor influence on reasoned argument in discussion boards
